Hi Richard: Finding a 47 convert floor that is not already full of rust is going to be a big task.. I bought my 47 convert in 1985 and drove it for about 7 years before I decided to do a full restoration of the car. My body man said the floor and trunk floor were so rusted out that I needed to find another floor. Living in Phoenix and knowing most salvage yards in Arizona, I did not think finding a floor was going to be that hard. After searching all the Arizona, New Mexico and California yards and finding no 47 convert floors that could be used, I ended up buying a 46-6207 club coupe from a salvage yard south of Phoenix. The 46-6207 coupe or the 47-6207 coupe have about the same floor as the 6267 convert. After transferring the cowl and firewall from my convert to the 46 floor, my body man was then able to finish the body to go on my convert frame.
      As you see by the picture below, The frame from the 46 coupe was used when rebuilding the 47 convert body to make sure doors and panels fit when transferred back to the 47 frame.   Hope you find what you need.   Bill

Hi Bill,
I hope I am doing this correctly, I am new to the club, and the Forum is different then I am use to.  Thank you for the info and of course I was afraid that was what I was going to find out.  I have thought about doing what you did.  I got my first 47 caddy Conv in 1955 and it was a beauty.  I was in the Air Force and my dad felt that it burned to much gas and he convinced me to take his car and traded the Caddy for a new Nash.  The worst part was the day I drove it to the dealership the salesman told me he would sell it back to me for $25.00   That was 1957 and I have kicked myself ever since. $25 was a lot of money then I only got paid $70/month and no place to store it anyhow.  What kind of luck do you think I might have looking for a parts car? The car I have was left in a barn and the roof of the barn cave in.  It only has 30K miles on it and mostly all there, but I need interior parts. I am located in New England.   Thanks again.

Another option is to find a 2 door coupe if possible.
But another option is a 4 door. I know that sounds odd, but I did a 59 Chevy 2 door years ago that honestly should have been crushed,  but the guy who owned it convinced me that it was worth restoring.
All I could find at that time was a good 4 door hardtop floor.  Other than where the rear door posts attached to it,  it was an identical match. I just had to trim off the posts and  patch the rockers where the posts were attached, and if you didn't know better,  you'd think it was an original 2 door floor.
Just something to think about anyway.  Good luck on your search and the restoration.

For what I saw and read all those years, aftermarket sheet metal for Cadillac cars is a waste of money.

Hi Richard; You say the car is mostly all there but you need interior parts. I would recommend that you make a list of the parts that are missing from the car or parts that need to be replaced. Put that list of parts needed here on the forum and see what you can find. There are certain parts for the 47 Cad convert that are very hard to find like chrome window/door trim or stainless door and body moldings. If you need help identifying parts that are needed, ask for help from those of us on the forum who have been where you are now,getting parts to restore a great car.   Bill
