Quote from: Cadillac Jack 82 on March 02, 2025, 12:15:22 AMTold a friend that a Nissan as a club promoter is like crapping in your hand and hoping it turns to gold.  Trying to source him a nice 66 Cad.  He wants blue or black if anyone has a lead.

If you can't something nice, then just tell the truth!  :)

Sunday funday.  Two 59s together is both a fun and rare site.

Also is it me or is the glare off the padded dash a problem with other 59s?

Yes I've experienced it too. The EBZ dash is pebble grain (like a '60) which might not have the same problem.

You aren't alone. I had the same issues depending on how the car was orientated to the sun. Mine was a really deep greenish/blue.

I finally said, 'Screw it, I'm cruising today'. Took a 100 mile ride around NASA and the county. I have 2 weeks left on my access badge, so I figured I'd get in there while I could. Beautiful 65-70 degree day. The sky, almost as blue as my car.

Cruising along I spotted a space capsule crated outside of a warehouse like it was ready to be picked up. I couldn't pass up the photo op. Also grabbed a few shots across the river from the famous Launch Pads 39A and 39B. After that, I ran up to the north end of the county and putted back down US 1.

With all the major engine work taking into the summer last year there were a few lingering things I wanted to get done this winter and I wrapped them up this past week:

1. Finally tackled that "mushy" area on the driver's side floor pan. No wonder my foot was getting hot! Took all the carpet out, wire brushed, rust neutralizer, applied sound/heat deadener, and zipped everything back up much nicer that what it was. That bench seat reminded my of grandmas old "davenport" and getting it out by myself was HEAVY!
2. Replaced the power seat transmission, lubed all components. Everything is now fully operational and I won't have to put a pillow behind my wife's back for her to be able to reach the pedals  ;D
3. Replaced low coolant sensor with the CORRECT On/Off style
4. Replaced D/S tail lamp lens with new to match P/S (Was really surprised I had to take the bumper loose to do that)

I'm so content all of these "to dos" are done and I'm looking forward to giving her a good detailing and getting her out of the garage.  Lord willing this will be my first full season of enjoying the car and the weather looks to be turning the corner in the near future in my neck of the woods.

The '69 cars were among my favorites.

I would have liked to have held onto that '69 FWB. It was a solid car that just purred at 90mph.
The buyer recently reported to me that the car is still running perfectly.

Gave Doris a 40 weight oil change and coolant flush.  She sat for far too long.  Oil was midnight and the coolant brown.  Whomever restored her did an ace job!

Finished putting new hoses on my 57. The old one were pretty elderly. The transmission cooling lines (not the metal lines introduced the next year) use heater hose that run from two fittings on the water pump, under the intake manifold, over the rear of the engine and down to the transmission. The heater lines run from the water pump around and behind the left fender well the up to the heater core high up behind inner fender. Glad that job is done.

Replaced the high pressure power steering hose on Big Red, that was seeping fluid around a crimp fitting, with AN6 stainless steel wrapped PTFE hose/tube.  Expect it will last a very long time.

I took Penny out for a nice run this morning....The V12 runs very smooth and the car really doesn't have any rattles....not bad for a 90 year old car !

I'm in the process of adding turn signal lights.....I made the brackets and I'm starting to put in these small lights....I'm not sure I like them....I should go with a little larger round light...

There's not alot of room in the original light buckets to put those lights and I didn't want to start hacking up the interior of those buckets....

I wish I didn't need the turn signals but it's dangerous to drive with out them....everybody is always in a hurry and there is alot of horn blowing at my hand signals....haha
