I converted my 63 CDV transmission to a THM 400, but I need to buy the carburetor switch or adapt one for a carter carb.  Anyone have something for sale?

Thank you

You did not specify which year THM 400 you installed. I have the switch for a THM 400 that is NOT switch-pitch. One variety  is for 68-69, and another for 70-74. Send me an e-mail at faresmcmthelix@msn.com if either of these will work for your application.

If you aren't into originality, there are a number of ways you can go.

Fitting a micro-switch to the throttle linkage anywhere on the pedal, behind the dash, or at the carby itself will work.

Here is what I did to fit a switch in my 500 which I fitted a Predator.

How is that switch holding up in that (Underwood heat) environment.

It has never given me a problem so far, but being up that high, away from the virtual direct heat of the cast iron of the engine block, I sort of keep an eye on it.

Funny thing is that with my style of driving, and so much torque of these "monsters" I never seem to have to depress the pedal so far to need the kick-down to come into play.

The only time I need to go back a gear is when descending steep hills, as the Predator acts as  good engine braking by cutting off the air flow when the throttle is backed off.   Minimal air equates to minimal fuel out of the venturi.
