Jim,

What's wrong with the one you have?  Your photos seem to show two different parts.  Or are they 'before' and 'after' photos of the same part?

Jeff, they are the same control arm, my son says it has been bent at some time in the past, along whit the weld on the steering knuckle and the sway bar having broken, we think there has been some repairs in he past that were not done properly.  He is going to use the control arm, but is thinking he may have some issues during alignment.  At this age of parts, this may be the best we will be able to come up with.

He found these two problems during the rebuild of the steering.

We love the car, has new tires, rebuilt the carb, replaced the u-joints, generator/regulator rebuild, engine mounts soon to be replaced.  This is a good car, and I thank you for inspecting it for us.

Bob Schuman

Jim,
My Master Parts Book shows the lower control arms are the same for all 1940-1949 Cadillacs and LaSalles except he 1940 Series 75 and the 1941-49 commercial chassis models.
They are part #1435824(RH) and 1435825(LH) in Group 1.0010.
The steering knuckles are the same for all 1941-1955 except 47-75 and 55-75 series. Part numbers are 3506432(RH) and 3506433(LH) in Group 1.0170.
This may make your parts search a little easier.

Hi Dex, do you still have this pair of lower control arms?
My spring retainers of a 1941 Coupe 62 are rusted through.
Thanks for your help, Manfred

Ohjai

Thanks to all, I have received the lower control arm.
