I've seen these before.  Somebody decided to
shave the rear fins off.  This type of "custom"
shows up on 57-60's but not that often.

OK so what does it do to the value of the car?

it flushes down the toilet unless you have a pair of 'fins' laying around...

I bought my '58 Biarritz as a project that had the fins cut off.  I purchased a rusty but usable Seville and grafted the rear clip onto the Biarritz.  It was not a facet of the project for the faint of heart.  I had to fabricate a jig and all worked out well with careful measurements but it was quite an ordeal.

I got the car cheap, mainly because the seller knew what the buyer was going to have do to make the car right (and the fact that the car was in very poor condition).  I suspect that the seller of this Seville will need to do the same.  Especially considering I was very lucky to locate a donor Seville.  Given the present value of Sevilles, I'm thinking that will be a pretty tall order.  Not to mention, you will be still sacrificing another Seville for a this Seville and not to save a Biarritz, which of course is much more valuable in comparison.

I'm betting this car will become a custom--- but only for the right price.  And IMO, this car is about $3k away from the "right price"

There was one of these that parked in the garage where I parked on the roof when I worked in downtown Indy. As I recall, it was red also. As memory serves, I didn't especially like the car either way compared to earlier fins.
