1939 LaSalle Steering wheel completed restoration!

I just got my steering wheel back from Steering Wheel Kris out here in So Cal. It came out great! He already had the core, and got it all cleaned up re chromed, and re cast the grip in straight clear. The chrome core with clear grip has such a cool look to it in the light. I added the steering wheel clock I found a while back. Going to modify the bracket for the clock to hide the screws. The center he stripped the old paint and polished the brass. It still needs a little more polishing to be where I want it. The horn button, housing, and horn ring I found on ebay. Kris had all that re chromed as well.

I'm stoked on it and can't wait for the day Ill actually be able to put it in my car, haha 😄 but that was one of the main pieces I was missing.

I was wondering if any of you might have a good LaS horn button for sale. The mounting tabs on the back of this one are busted.

 That is gorgeous! Congratulations, that will look fantastic in your car. I've never seen one with a clock in it before.  How many years was it an option?

The clock wasn't a factory option. I think it is an old aftermarket clock. Guy I got it from had it listed as 30's-40's steering wheel clock. He gad a couple others, a pontiac, and a buick one. The body of them were the same, but different ligi in on the face, and etched into the metal on the back.

Not sure when the clock was made or who manufactured it. But I've never seen one before.

 So the wheel wasn't made to fit the clock,  but the clock has a bracket to fit it to the wheel. It's still really cool. It looks like a pocket watch actually. And that wheel is unbelievably sharp.

Correct. It is a universal style bracket to mount onto any banjo wheel. It does look like it could have been a pocket watch. The back of it has the cad crest etched into the chrome.
