SHOUT OUT to Charles Fares, that paint you told me to get is PERFECT!
Its a paint pen from Hobby Lobby, "metallic" color. Drips/mistakes can be cleaned up with a spit wet QTip if noticed
quickly, otherwise its paint thinner on a QTip. The "F" word was in abundance. The areas to be painted weren't all
smooth, lots of scratches, gouges, etc, did the best I could. It looks a lot better but still retains some 51 year old funk. Pictures were uploaded before and after. I used a white crayon for the radio and rear defroster controls. I'm happy.

LAurie,

Those devilish details can become obsessions.  As Old Red, my 83 Eldorado, spooled up the miles, I simply decided that having the outside of the car looking new so it did not look like a beater was of primary importance  (had it painted FOUR TIMES)... so ultimately the interior cracked and looked bad, but when I drove the car and looked over the beautiful long hood with its wonderful hood orniment, truly a symbol of corporate capitalism,I was well satisfied.  Old Red accumulated 317,000 miles.... my friend and automobile mechanic discouraged me from replacing the motor when it finally died after nearly 25 year of ownership.  Happy day to you Laurie,   James

Hi James, and thank you! Wish you had kept Old Red, but we make the right decisions at the time using the information we have at the time. Hindsight is always 20/20. The Ark's steering wheel is next, a proper restoration doesn't make sense. There's a guy who makes an inlay... results are 50/50 so far on that, we'll see.

Thanks for the kudos guys. HIGHLY recommend no use of alcohol or excessive caffeine before starting this job,
and bring a boat load of time and patience.
