Matt--- interesting --- however, the mileage could be well over 100k--- hard to tell from pictures.  I suspect, since it's an 82, it has the 4100 HT engine?   Maybe not.  I loved these models...    thanks for posting, James

why would you think it has over 100K miles?    Look at that leather!!    It's perfect.  I believe the 26K.

The downside is the HT4100 motor regardless of miles.

Hi Dave,  I was afflicted with a passion for 80s Cadillacs (over the 90's decade, owner 5), and I can attest to the fact that (aside from the engine block) a reasonably maintained car with leather interior was very, very durable.  The seating would begin to lose its stitching well into the over 100K mileage. THe darker shades of leather would deteriorate more quickly... My 83 Eldorado with white leather "pillow topped" interior (while living in FLorida) looked really quite presentable at 150k miles.  Thereafter, its pillow stitching started to pull apart.   I think this convertible car could be a real "winner," and I certainly don't wish to discourage a CLC member from investigating it.  If it's really low mileage, all the better! THanks for helping me to clarify my skepticism.   James

Very unlikely the interior would have survived like this with 126,000 miles at ~ 40 years of age, least of all on a droptop.

I don't know whether anyone noticed but the wheelbase was shortened and presumably the back seat was eliminated.

UNRESTORED! 1982 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. That's right Cadillac didn't make a convertible in 1982 but, Global Coach of Orlando, Florida did. This vehicle was customized direct from the factory by this quality car builder and customizer. The attention to detail is top notch. It is a one owner, 17,000 original mile cream puff with great provenance. This unique car needs no restoration, it is in pristine original condition. The exterior is colonial yellow with midnight blue metallic accents. Interior is dark blue leather in pristine condition. Top is dark blue. Car has been garaged and professionally maintained its entire life. The car is an original numbers matching car.

Thanks, a very helpful link. The car in question IS one by Global Coach of Orlando. The paint matches perfectly what is shown in their sales brochure. The 26K mileage listed in Matt's post is at least plausible, and this link definitely supports the low mileage.

Global Coach did make shortened Eldorado customs in 1980, but I'm can't tell if the car just purchased by Brandon Johnson is one of them. Certainly the paint schemes on his 1980 and on this 1982 are NOT the same.  I'm not attracted to the blue/yellow combination, but of course that is subjective. What is not subjective is the preference for the 368 in the 1980 model over the 4100 in the 1982 model.

Brian Rachlin's 1980 Eldorado done by Hess & Eisenhardt is, in my view, the superior conversion to a convertible. Quality of the conversion is outstanding. But that Eldo is not shortened. The all black with red leather is a most desirable combination.
