Things went badly with the rebuilt '41 engine for my '40 5067. It was all my fault, and I've decided to install a 350 Chevrolet out of an '84 Chevy Van in place of the '41. I wanted to do this originally, but a well-meaning friend talked me out of it.

I'm just replacing the engine; I will keep the standard transmission.

Has anyone else done this? What do I need for a bell housing?

I dont blame you.
The flathead 346 is cool, but hot running. Few people mess with them anymore.
Down the road I may install a Caddy 331/365 with a 4 barrel.
