In my ongoing quest to solve a vibration issue, I need to verify what the factory original configuration was for rubber pads on my '55 CDV rear suspension.
See photo, I have rubber pads installed both above and below the rear leaf springs. Did the factory place pads above the leafs? Below? Both? Neither?
IF you have a '54, '55, or a '56 with ORIGINAL rear suspension, or have CERTAIN knowledge of how the factory installed the rubber pads, I would very much appreciate your input!!!
Looking forward to your responses!

John,

They have them on both upper and lower according to the MPL and these go back to 1936.

Hope this helps..!

In the olden days, it was not unusual to disassemble the spring pack & polish the leafs to help smooth out the ride. These days, a little Teflon paint and/or some dry lube product can accomplish much the same.

Thank you for your input, I did check the MPL, upper AND lower is the verdict!
