1937 LaSalle Engine wny

I bought this engine for a project but decided to go with a different engine.  It was supposedly a good runner with good compressions. It may have been rebuilt when the rest of the car it came from was restored.  At the least, it was painted nicely.  Engine is in NY.

It comes with starter, generator, carb, and some other bits not pictured. It is a 1937 322.

Morning RG,

My 1940 322 has a repair to the block that has failed and is not repairable (I'm making a coffee table).  I'm not as fluent in the ways of LaSalle as I should be to drop any big money, I should learn more, but is there a big difference between a 1937 and a 1940 block?  Can you read any identifiers on the block, cast in or stamped numbers?  Your heads don't have ribs as mine does, makes me apprehensive.

Mine was rebuilt 1200 miles before it failed so pistons, bearings etc. are brand new.
