Hi all ! I am trying to find serial number location on 1935 Cadillac series 355 4 door convertible. This was my father in laws car & he passed away. Serial number on registration is 53014. We are trying to match serial number on car. We are trying to sell this vehicle & someone looking at it said they could not find serial number on firewall . Could there be any other locations on car to find serial number plate? Thank you

Hi,
There is NO tag anywhere on the car. The cars were ID'd by engine #. Beginning with 3100001.It usually does NOT match the frame  #. These #'s may be hard to find. The frame # is on the RH side frame near the first body bolt. My book is un-clear as to the location of the engine #. Do not use the engine unit #.

Too much fun is more than you can have.

Not totally sure on a 1935 but on my 1939 LaSalle the serial number is stamped on top of the frame rail to the left of the engine (you come see it when looking straight down from the oil fill pipe) and it matches the engine serial number which is stamped on the top of the block behind the left side cylinder head. I recall that some earlier years they were stamped on the front side of the block just above the water pump. Hope that helps.
