How do know if my car is a 2 x 4 car or saber wheels etc?

Ronald Rains

testing to see if i know what im doing???

There is an engine unit stamped at the back of the engine block (hard to see when the engine is into the car) which will say the equipment:
Without A/C and dual carbs: 4X....
With A/C but without dual carbs: 4VK
With dual carbs, but without A/C: 7X
With dual carbs and A/C: 7XK

I neglected the lines for Commercial chassis.

I have no answer about the Sabre wheels

There is a body tag on the cowl under the hood. It gives some information as to how the car came from the factory. The build sheet is also available .

The code for sabre wheels is I,for gold Sabre wheels IG. This may only be on build sheet.
The code for Eldorado Engine is Q,with one or two carbs. As Roger  pointed out the engine unit number is only way to know about a given engine. Then match up the engine number with the body number to check on a replaced engine.
