Hey guys,

I am getting ready to order new brakes lines and fittings. A local garage is going to help me bend and flare the lines correctly as I have no experience with flaring. Considering this is a safety issue I want to do this right.
As the car probably sat for more than 30 years I am replacing basically all brake parts.
My question is: what size are the brake lines?
I am sure that the fittings on the master cylinder are 1/2-20 (according to the shop manual) and the other fittings are 7/16-24. But what is the brake line size? 3/16 or 1/4 inch? They are the original brake lines.
Anyone know for sure?
Thank you in advance.

From the parts list: brake lines are 1/4" outside diameter for all models.

That is good work, just replace EVERYTHING that touches
brake fluid, and you will be SAFE for a couple dozen
more years. I have been doing the same on my cars here,
maybe half done.  A good double flare tool set really
helps, a bit costly.

However to really do it best, many convert the single
circuit systems last used in the 60s, to a dual circuit
system that still can stop the car even with a failure.
Not sure what you have, 66 Toro was single circuit.  I
see quite a variety of fitting and tubing sizes around
those dual master cylinders.   good luck, Bruce Roe
