1952 s62 power steering pump and lines get very hot and steering gets what I call spongy. Pump is rebuilt and lines are new,any suggestions?

What is the coupling you are referring too?

I had this issue on our 55. Well, the heat anyway. It turns out I had a blockage in a line. They were brand new, and 1 had a global of crap in it. So, check to be sure you have good fluid flow.
