I was trying to put my top up today and one side wasn't going up.  It turned out that a bolt that keeps one of the top bows connected to the base came out, so it wouldn't let the top go up on that side. I can feel with my fingers where the bolt gets inserted into the brace that keeps everything atatched, but I don't know how to reinsert it (it doesn't easily reach with the top down) or what keeps it attached if I do.  Any ideas?  I'm sure someone has dealt with this before, many thanks.

A few pictures are below.  Hopefully they will attach correctly.

Same thing happened to me in my '55. I used a normal similar sized nut and bolt as a replacement - it's still fitted. I ordered a complete bolt replacement kit from eBay I think - mine was the same as a '55 Buick - they wouldn't sell me the single stud I wanted. The full replacement looks like a lot of work, so I'm still running on the non-standard bolt until I change my complete top.

HTH,

Andy
