With the cost of parts, paint, chrome, interior etc. thru the roof to say nothing of labor if one cannot do the work one's self, the problem is restoring most cars today far exceed the value when completed. This of course is not a problem if you are working from a bottomless wallet and care not the disparity. An example is a 1955 Cadillac Coupe listed on this site with 140K into it so far asking for a loss of 100K. If you got this car for free to start with you would likely still end up under water. Sad state of affairs for us who Love these cars.
Age 69, Living in Gods waiting room ( Florida ) Owned over 40 Old Cadillac's from 1955's to 1990 Brougham's. Currently own a 1968 Cadillac DeVille Convertible and a 1992 Cadillac 5.7 Brougham.

and coincidently there is someone on Long Island,NY(not the car owner) listing a bunch of '34 V8 parts on ebay in the last few days. If someone is interested in this '34 town sedan, it seems like a great time with a ton of usually hard to find parts for sale at reasonable prices. Good Luck!!

Good catch Jim......The same seller has this 1934, what looks like a seven passenger sedan / limo for sale at $30,000....

If I had the choice I'd go for this car at $30K and avoid the $12K project...

Way better off with the 30k then the project at 12k. You would be starting off with a running driving car that has an interior:-) They may even accept lower then 30k? Nice car!!!

This would have to be an in-person transaction. This 'seller' has too much for sale at the same time, both cars and parts. When I first read about it, I closed the page calling it a scam. It very well may be.

Buyer beware.
