I met someone at the GN last week who has a neighbor who has a 1940 Lasalle in the back yard under some tarps that he ''just wants to get rid of''. The location is just outside of DC which was on my way home so I stopped by to give it a look to see if it may be a diamond in the rough. From what little bit I could see....... it was just in the rough. The car is a 1940 Lasalle 52 series based off of the tail lights. I have a 50 series so I'm not real interested in the 52 series. From what little bit I could see without pulling off 6 layers of old tarps and fighting all kinds of bugs, bees and other critters...... It looks like a complete car. I could see the front end has a good grill and bumper. I could see the back tail lights were good. I could also see the rear end sheet metal was rotted out. My guess is most sheet metal will be no good based on it being under tarps for the last 40 years. But, he does have a good solid extra hood in his garage that has been in the dry. If anyone is interested, I'll pass on the contacts name and number.
