I don't know the brand, but the temp range is what is recommended for each engine.

I am using a 180 degree thermostat.

Jon,

I have likely asked this before, but don't you have a Service Manual for your car.

It is important to note that once you determine the temperature - 185 seems a bit high according to the literature - you should take care in selecting the proper radiator cap you use, depending if the car has AC or not. and how the thermostat is oriented when placed atop the water pump.

Have fun,

Jon, why ask? Use the recommended thermostat per the manual. I think it's a 180 degree one.

People think using a lower one makes the engine run cooler. THAT'S INCORRECT! All that does is allow the thermostat to open sooner.

This might be bad for the engine since it now takes longer for the car to get to the proper operating temperature. It does not prevent overheating as many people think.

Usually a car overheats because there is something else wrong, like a clogged radiator.
