I need to replace most of the floor in my 1959 as it has rotted out. Sourcing the front and rear floor pans is easy enough.

However, locating the under rear seat pan is proving less easy. I seem to remember reading that GM had standardised the floor across models by 1959 and that the Chevy Impala / Bel Air pan will work. I've found d this from Impala Parts:

Does anyone have any experience of this and can confirm it will fit?

Many thanks

David,

You didn't say or have pictures to show how much of the floor(s) need to be replaced.

The design to match the OEM is very important - close will not due.
Why, because there are under floor braces which will need to be added to the floor sheet metal itself, to give the floor proper strength.

Some patch panels are almost devoid of rolled strength ribbing in the sheet metal, which also gives it strength and helps keep it from flexing and rattling/vibrating.

And speaking of rattling, you should mark out the location of the holes from which the anti-vibration rubber plugs were originally installed - in size and number.

If needed, I may be able to provide some pics which may help.

Have fun,

Here are some pictures of the underseat floor that I replaced in a '71 Eldo Convertible.   All made out of flat sheet that I cut to suit and hammered, folded and pressed into shape using basic tools.

I added the rest of the floor pictures.

I have hundreds of pictures on how I constructed the tools for swaging and forming the stiffenings.   Some flat steel and a 15 Lb sledgehammer comes in handy.

I used Impala pans for under the seat. They fit perfectly except the driveshaft tunnel, which was fine in my car. I just cut that area off and put the seam at the step down area of the pan. I actually used Impala pans only on my car, (1960). They all need some easy modifications, but otherwise fit much better than most pans offered for the Cadillacs.
