1950s 1959 reverse light issue

So I believe this is a simple adjustment but my reverse lights on my 59 CDV sometimes dont come on.  If I move the selector back and forth sometimes they pop on when in low gear.  Is this an adjustment, neutral safety switch fault, or something else.  Wirings clean so its definitely not that.

I'm going for adjustment to the neutral safety switch. That's where the reverse light switch is.

Were there some years it was on the transmission?  Or am I thinking of a different brand?

Culprit found.  Neutral safety switch was loose lol.  Fixed along with some other boo boos.
