I am working on a 47 series 60. The carburetor is a Carter WCD and the tag is 581S. This carburetor does not have any fast idle mechanism. The paperwork for the 581 says it is a light tank. This does not seem correct. Is it possible someone put the incorrect carburetor in this years ago? I'm working on this car for another fellow. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Hello, 1946-47 saw mostly the stromberg carbs. I have seen only a few with the carter carb and yes you would have a cold high speed idle cam. It would be very difficult without one with an automatic transmission. Tim
