1950s 1959-60 Door jam lite swtich

So I have some of these and am trying to find out how to test them. 4 terminals on the back all identical. Which one is power. I think ground is where you push it threw the hole. I want to test it out of the car using only a car battery. I clipped the round housing to ground and made a pigtail with a lite bulb and slid bulb wire to one of the 4 clips. When I put power to another clip, it just sparked, so I need to no, where does power wire go.

Opening the door (black button out) completes the circuit between the ground and the terminal clips. I believe each clip fed one set of lamps.

OK, where does the bulb get power from. This is what I did.
