I acquired a nice 57 sedan last fall. Two questions not really covered in the shop or authenticity manuals. From the water pump there are two coolant lines to the transmission and two to the heater core. These lines look like straight 5/8 hose with no moulded turns. Am I correct on this observation?
Then since there are four 5/8 lines coming out of the water pump, is that pump a one off? I believe they went to metal transmission cooling lines direct to the radiator in '58.

1957 water pumps are one year only. For an unknown reason, the lower outlet connected to the radiator is on the passenger side. From 1949 to 1962, (except '57), the oultlet is on the driver side.

The 57 I had cooked one of the lines when in OC MD.  5/8s sounds right.  Had to have a local Shell station fix it.

Mine are at least 25 years old. I've not put her up on the lift to see yet, but I'm hoping I can reach up to the heater core to the end of the hoses and not have to remove the dust shield. That core looks hard to reach up under the left fender.
