I have learned that former CLC member John CILIA passed away, November 2nd 2024. John was a car guy who was quite active on the CLC Mid-Century Cadillac site. At that time he was retoring a 1956 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. Wishing his friends and family my condolences. Clay/Lexi

Yes, John was a good guy. We helped each other on our vintage Cadillac projects. When he discovered he had a cracked cylinder head in his '56, I found a good used part which saved the day. That car eventually went overseas. After that John got into vintage VWs and owned a couple of split windows. Total frame off restorations and well done. I have fond memories meeting him at the body shop to help lift his VW body back onto the frame following body work and paint. He was also extremely humorous and had a way with words. After tearing down his 365 Caddy engine for a rebuild he discovered that the oil pan was filled with lots of metal shavings. I remember him telling me when in his darkest car guy moment that his oil pan looked like "Miami Beach". Still a sense of humour at that low point. And there always to help out a fellow car guy. RIP John. Clay/Lexi
