I'm just about ready to rebuild my water pump for my 54 CDV using a kit from Cadillac Parts Ltd. Watching the video that they did they say to use waterpump grease when assembling the pump.
There are a number of different types of water pump greases. Does anyone have any idea which one I should buy. This is for assembly only, the bearing is sealed. They recommend putting the grease where the rubber seal meets the casting and the bearing so I don't want a rubber eating grease!

Lubriplate 115 is a waterpump specific grease. I use it on my 1940 LaSalle, which has a greasable pump. I bought a 14 oz can about 20 years ago and have barely made a dent in it. It is a whiteish calcium-based grease. I don't know if it is correct for a sealed pump or not.
