1946-1949 1949 sedanette clips function

assembling this car for customer. someone else disassembled . everything is here. but can't figure out what application these are for. any help?

The square metal pieces look like body side molding clips which slide into the molding piece and would have a carriage bolt through the slot. The spring clips look like after market. The small round cups go on the back of the panel between it and the nut and washer.    Harry
