Hey Everyone just was checking to see the consensus on replacement bumper fillers for the 2nd gen Sevilles. Who makes the best ones?

Barry M Wheeler #2189

I haven't looked since I had mine installed, but don't try to do it yourself. (And my body man told me to NEVER bring something like that into the shop again. But they did do an excellent job.) I was able to do the front ones myself, but had to leave off the metal reinforcements. Trying to install such a large piece yourself is nearly impossible. (And there ARE two of them, you know.) Good luck.

John,

I certainly agree with Barry.  There were a number of products available years ago when I did mine, and I don't think the original soft material OEM has been available for decades, so what remains are hard plastic reproductions.  As Barry says, the fronts can be finessed in place, but using the original metal reinforcements doesn't work.  Back in '08 when I owned a low mileage '84 Biarritz convertible, I priced replacements for all of them at a high end body shop... I think they were quoting me $2,500... I found another shop, but it was still expensive --- can't recall how much. Hope this helps,  James

Update on my fillers, I ended up with the accutrim fillers hearing they were the best option. It took my body guy 22 hours to cut, shape , bend and whatever else to make them fit properly. And as Barry said the body guy said do not ever bring something like that in again please 😂.  And while it was there the fuel pump decided it was time to stop working .......  Just turned 9900 miles

Looking glorious... congratulations.

Yep! One of my favorite Cadillacs. It's different, futuristic and still stylish.

Got my '81 running again, and an appointment with my mechanic to look it over and make sure it's OK to drive again. Started on the second try and no valve clatter or smoke. It's a 4100, but the "good one." The Buick V-6. Hasn't been driven much since the 2019 GN. Drove home in the early morning in a monsoon.
