1962 trans in a 60

Can anyone tell me if a 1962 transmission will fit in a 60, and would they be the same or will I have to do some modifications.

I think the trans mount is different. But I am not sure if the cross member is different.

The Starter Motor mounts are different, as is the Block Plate that locates the Starter.

The reason for this is that the '62, like the '61, runs a shallower pan, because the chassis sits lower to the ground.

I think under #363 it should read Flywheel Housing, not flywheel,and ext. means extension  ,not exterior. Its not a direct fit,BUT......

Sorry dont understand hollander stuff. Basicly ,will it bolt right in or do I need to make changes to bellhousing, linkages, starter I know is smaller.

All I can add is that the 1961 engine, which is the same as the 1962, will fit to the 1960 Transmission, as that is what I had in my own '60 CDV.

The problem I had was that the Starter Motor and Block Plate had to match the Transmission.

As for the gear linkage and Kickdown, in my case, I had to construct my own linkage, as my car was RHD, but the Kickdown was the same, but, as I was running a Holley 750, Vac Secondary, I had to make my own bracket for the carby to replicate the one for the Carter WCFB, which I didn't have.

The first picture is an original, and the second one is what I replicated for a WCFB, but the last picture is what I made to fit the Holley.   Bearing in mind that I was also using a throttle cable, but it worked.   The reason why I didn't use the WCFB was because it was no good, so I reverted to the Holley that I had previously had on the 454 which I took out.

The answer is YES.

But, you have to use the correct Starter Motor, and Block plate to fit the Starter Motor so that the engine will start.

The Drive Plate is the same for both units, as is the small disc in the end of the crankshaft.

Cannot get much clearer than that.
