So Im in my driveway and shut the hood, and check it. Its closed. So I go on the highway and it opens, thanks GOD the safty held it , but its scarey. Can anyone help me here. Is it this thing that needs adjustment where my finger is?

I would look at the latch first. The striker is probably fine if it closes and latches. The latch spring, or if the latch is worn and not holding, is most likely your problem.

I ahree about the latch. Make sure it's lubricated as it may not be moving all the way for a solid close.

I don't have mine in front of me, but isn't there a bit of adjustment on the latch?
