Please view the post in the Forum Support forum, it has a poll about making a dark mode (i.e. dark color screens instead of bright white) available. This can be of interest for those that access the forums from a mobile device as dark screens use less battery power. But we need to know whether enough people want this before investing the time to install an extra mode.

Are R.T.R.W and Steele Rubber products selling the same products?
From same manufacturer?

Blurry picture from 9 years ago.

My Eastwood material order. The body was looking pretty good at the time until the racoon urine destroyed a bunch of my work. After years of remodeling my shop to prevent that issue in the future the body work from that time has not aged well. So I will be resanding everything. But the time is coming soon.

I bought a lot of parts off of eBay from The Mother Brain. Haven't heard from him since the old 61-62 group.

I really wanted the oil breather and the door strikers. That made the price worth it to me. I can use the mirror adjuster. But I already bought a new mirror adjuster. I don't need the rearview mirror. It is not correct anyway. I already have a full set of interior handles, and mine are brush chrome, so these bright chrome are unneeded.

I was hopeful for the sun visor brackets. But they are incorrect. Everyone sells them as 61 with a note saying they are a half inch longer. Well that makes them not work.

But I am still happy.

I thought I had an oil breather sticker. Two actually. But I cannot find them.

I wonder if I would be brave enough to do a vintage car Cannonball run after my car is complete.

Cadillac sellers want $11 for one of these oil breather decals.

Bobs Autobilia Buick seller wants $3. But even buying four does not meet minimum order price.

I will need to look through the site to see if there is other things I can use.

Water transfer decals are superior to the sticker type.

Buying 7 of these from the Buick seller was the same price as two from the Cadillac sellers. I needed two. So at the same price I have spares.

Not perfect. But I found someone with a 62 Fleetwood parts car. I was able to buy these from him before he sold the car for scrap metal.

I now have a pair and spare for restoration.

In Google searches I found a couple of places that said they restore emblems. But they were specific with the types they would restore.

If you know of anyone who can restore these please let me know.

I'd opt to try and restore as is.  They look clean enough and some chrome paint behind the lettering will make it pop again.  May not be museum perfect but it'll look nice.

Have you talked to King of Trim in So. Cal?  I know they restore some stuff like that.

I will reach out to them. I think they are who did the front grill restoration for Calvin Jonses 61.

Could also try foil behind it with a heat gun and do a pseudo vacuum chrome.

I have used a fellow in England who does the cloisonné work.  This is a very special skill.  The base has to be done first and chromed, then the colored glass is fired.

Here are pictures to show my new fuel lines again. My car is AC so it is two lines.

Flipping my lines back and forth. I could not figure out which was front and back. It looks like the metal lines end over the axle and rubber lines continue back to the fuel sending unit.
IMG_20240212_163034172.jpg

The lines then come out the front It looks like they end at back of motor. I need to figure out where to go from there.

For some reason I have been thinking about when I will be charging the AC system.

I have 12 12 ounce cans of R12.

I need 6 to charge the car, so I will have 6 extra. But I keep wanting to buy more.

Recently a recovery machine has come up for sale local to me. Thinking about buying it, then upgrading to purchasing a large can of R12.

Finally feeling energetic to get some of my patches done.

5 in total before I can repaint the underbody and firewall. My goal is to have all that done and painted to put the body permanently back on the frame at the end of October.

Trying to make and curve these pieces using just a hammer and anvil.

It is a hidden area behind the bumper. So just a little finesse and some spot welds on the flange and it is done.
