I have some issues. My presser foot arm is not lifting. But this removes the edge bulk from leather very nicely. For french seams I want about a 1/2 inch edge. But this thing can apparently due up to 2 inch. Which should help with piping.

Tuning up well. Still needs some tension and a little timing adjustment.

It is better now but I had some real issues with the left hand bobbin hook holding to much material. And the right hand hook skipping stitches.

I had to remove the post cover plates as they were hanging up the feed dog and plate.

I have mostly figured out the leather skiver. But it is hard to clean and is jambing up with all the different test samples I have worked with so far.

More trinkets to drop in the glovebox some day.

I got a 4 ounce test sample of paint today. They shipped it in a big box in a bigger box. Maybe that was for insulation to the cold.

I tested a little from a brush. But I will leave the heat on in my shop over night and spray a test sample tomorrow.

Ok. I like the color. It is a little more bright then the original. But I like that.

The paint and clear coat laid down nice and smooth on the testers.

I sprayed what was left on the firewall. If i had ordered 3 of these I could have done two coats and be good for the firewall.

The firewall shows more orange peel and texture. But it is very textured and has many coats of primer that I am not going to block sand. With how much all of this gets covered up I do not care. It is the body I will work to sand smooth.

I picked this up off of Ebay calling itself a hatpin.

Whatever it was made for, I think I am going to make a leather driving logbook and mount this to the cover.

Is it satin (matte) paint and clearcoat? Or is it just gloss paint - all in one?

I am doing basecoat clearcoat. Not single stage. It will be easier for me to work with doing it myself.

My paint, clear coat, primer/sealer, and various hardeners and reducers arrived today. I most likly will not get to it until fall at the earliest. But I am happy to have the supplies.

I started painting in some of my chrome.

The ash trays did not plate on the insides so I painted them with a chrome paint.

The air vent black background was painted.

But I am having trouble with the dash lettering background. The paint is not filling in corners or edges. So I will strip this paint back off and sand the chrome for better adhesion. A wood popsicle stick does work well for cleaning off the tops of the letters.

Just for fun. Front and rear bumper chrome photo with cut out background.

The smiley face was completly unintentional.

Looks like my oil leak is at the back of the oil pan or the rear seal.

Some oil on the pan and some coming out of the inspection cover.
